Sam has a passion for what we do and the community we represent. She has captured the hearts, minds, and spirit of this health care team.
Sam is a manager who leads in a way that enables me to deliver the best quality, safety, and patient experience. She covers three departments and at the same time knows which one of us excels with which skills. She partners with us as a group(s) and as individuals to make the department(s) work. She has compassion for each one of us and reaches out to us to make sure we have what we need to do the job.
Sam listens with care and responds to what we need. If any safety issue is brought up, it is addressed immediately. She is open to new ideas. She lets us work in whatever way we choose because she respects our skills and knows that we will get the job done. She knows we are capable of finding solutions to the issues we face. She includes everyone. She is fair. She recognizes and embraces our diversity. She allows each of us to use our skills to make the department function better. Each person is afforded the opportunity to be on a committee and/or be a part of projects that need to be done. She is committed to the power of working together.
One on one with Sam is a fun discussion. We learn from each other, build each other up. My privacy is respected. My voice matters whether in her office or at staff huddles. I am free to say anything I choose. I can ask anything I choose. I can rely on her integrity. I look up to her.
We face many challenges taking care of patients and collaborating with staff. She is creative and level-headed in helping us work through what we need to. She has a passion for what we do and the community we represent. She has captured the hearts, minds, and spirit of this health care team.
I believe she deserves to be recognized for her hard work and dedication to our patients, staff, and health care system.
Note: This is Sam's 2nd DAISY Award!
