As I've started to digest the events of last week, I wanted to give my utmost gratitude to a standout nurse, Sally Ince. I am a nurse manager at a Children's Hospital, and I see the depths of depravity at work every day... last week our world was rocked and we were on the other side. My sister and best friend experienced the most tragic and terrifying event of her life. Following a gynecological emergency, she was rushed to OR where she lost her twin babies and almost her life.
Sally Ince was the nurse who cared for her immediately after surgery and sat with my family to walk us through what happened. Sally spoke with empathy and tenderness, was clear and concise with the medical information, and was so compassionate in her words. She was a beacon of light in our darkest time. I want overwhelmingly grateful for her diligence and care, she even has continued to check on my sister. She embodies everything it means to be a nurse and she deserves to be highlighted.
