When you ask Faye's peers, they describe her as a mentor. She is a leader who is willing to listen, grow, and encourage those around her.
Faye encompasses all of what a leader is - kind, compassionate, fair, accountable, and dedicated to excellence. When you ask her peers, they describe her as a mentor. She is a leader who is willing to listen, grow, and encourage those around her. Faye is what people would call a "nurse's nurse," meaning she would never ask a nurse or caregiver to do something that she would not do herself - no task too small or large. Faye has never shied away from doing what is asked, from being the interim Director of Surgical Services or serving as the interim Chief Nursing Officer at EvergreenHealth Monroe or leading the Urgent Cares.
Here is what her peers say about Faye:
-John C. Maxwell identifies leadership as not about titles, positions, or flowcharts. But about one life influencing another. In my tenure at EvergreenHealth, Faye has been a coach, a mentor, a friend, and a role model. She has influenced how I perform as a leader. She has coached me to achieve success in difficult times and given me insight and the strength to persevere when I wanted to throw in the towel. She embodies John Maxwell's concept of leadership, as I would not be who I am in my role as a leader at EvergreenHealth without Faye. She has been "the life who has influenced mine." She will be missed greatly.
-Faye is a selfless leader who always demonstrates concern for her colleagues and provides assistance without asking. She has been a great mentor personally to me over the years and has motivated me to learn more about myself and develop emotional intelligence. Faye never forgets to keep the patient at the center of her work, and she helps others seek to understand other perspectives and look towards solutions that will positively impact the patients and the care team. Her ability to make others feel heard in any situation allows her to be a very influential leader. In times of need, she pulls up her bootstraps and helps the team in any way she can.
-Faye is a versatile, well-rounded, passionate, and people-oriented leader. I really think this is what separates Faye from most leaders. She is completely accessible and encourages staff to talk openly about their concerns and challenges. Everyone knows they can speak freely, and they do. Faye has gained respect from staff, physicians, and other departments here at EvergreenHealth because of this and her calm, inspiring, and genuine way of leading. The best part of it all - she knows how to make this fun!
-Faye is the kind of leader and friend that you can count on to tell you the absolute truth. She does it in a way that is always intended to support your success and growth. Faye was one of the first people that immediately made me feel at ease and welcomed me when I joined EvergreenHealth. She offered her warmth, wisdom, and encouragement generously and has become a trusted friend. I am forever grateful for Faye.
