Not only does she care deeply for her patients, but she is amazing with their families as well. This particular patient's family absolutely adores Lisa.
Lisa is the type of nurse who will go above and beyond for her patients. We currently have a patient on the unit who is very sweet but requires a lot of care. Lisa not only has taken the time to learn how to communicate with this patient as he cannot speak but also to establish a strong bond with the patient. This patient is unable to speak, has been in an MVA so his mentation is UTA, but he absolutely lights up when Lisa walks into his room. Not only does she care deeply for her patients, but she is amazing with their families as well. This particular patient's family absolutely adores Lisa. I was on a phone call with her and the patient's POA to get consent for a procedure and the POA profusely thanked Lisa for taking the time out of her day to keep the family updated and for her exceptional care and advocating for the patient. This is not the first time I have seen her go above and beyond for her patients either. She is a strong advocate for her patients and always does what is best for the patient.
As a night shift nurse, I often come in and get her patients and all night long I hear about how amazing she is and how much her patients love her and appreciate everything she does for them. As a new nurse on this unit, I look up to Lisa. She is always willing to help, stays late when the night shift is short and picks up to help out on the day shift when they are short-staffed. She does all of this without complaint and a smile on her face. She is a DAISY Nurse.
