Lauren really kept his spirits up and I believe that is very important to a patient's recovery. She was so sweet to all of us, but especially to my father.
I would like to recognize Lauren Frey for her amazing attitude and kind heart. On several occasions, I walked into my father's room and found her at his bedside keeping him company; chatting and telling silly jokes, and laughing at my father's silly jokes. Lauren really kept his spirits up and I believe that is very important to a patient's recovery. She was so sweet to all of us, but especially to my father. She even helped to keep my children in good spirits when they came to visit. She never dismissed any conversation that anyone had with her, even having a conversation with my 12-year-old son about Pokemon Go, which absolutely made his day. This was a very difficult time for my family and Lauren made us feel welcomed and free to ask any questions. She always addressed us with the utmost respect and professionalism. She listened to all of our concerns and all of my father's concerns as well. She is a wonderful nurse with an amazing bedside manner. I know that my father's speedy recovery was in part due to her diligence. Lauren helped my father get ready for his discharge and made sure he had everything he needed before he left including a number where she could be reached in case we had any questions. She even contacted my father yesterday to see how he was doing and it really made his day. It is truly a wonderful feeling to be considered not just a patient or the patient's family, but a human, with feelings and needs. I believe Lauren meets all of PMC's Mission, Vision, and Values while soaring above and beyond them to make something that was scary and painful and confusing for my father a more pleasant experience.
