Today Kasey Tanner brought in hair styling supplies, make-up, and nail polish, today is a spa day for our patient.
Today we have a patient on PCU who is transitioning to comfort care. This patient is 60 years old and will not be able to leave the hospital before she passes due to the need for hi-flow O2. On a normal day, with all interventions in place, the patient is alert and oriented and is able to have normal conversations with staff. She often states a desire to leave the hospital to go shopping. Unfortunately, due to her diagnosis, this is just not possible. Today is the day she will be transitioning to comfort care, she will be started on morphine and weaning off her oxygen. This patient has no family, she has become a family member of PCU. Today Kasey Tanner brought in hair styling supplies, make-up, and nail polish, today is a spa day for our patient. Kasey is going out of her way to make today special for our patient, to make her feel cared for and loved. Thank you, Kasey Tanner, for the care you have provided this patient and all of your patients on PCU, they are lucky to have you as their nurse.
