Rebecca went above and beyond her everyday positive energetic nursing self with a special patient recently. She developed a relationship with a verbally difficult patient. This patient had a recent stroke with severe expressive aphasia. He would often get extremely frustrated and start getting verbally aggressive. Becky was always able to calm him down quickly as well as took her time to figure out what he was needing. She realized that often there were only a few different things that he was requesting when he called. She made him his own communication board with specific pictures that he understood. When she gave him the board he got teary-eyed and thanked her. Way to always think outside of the box!
