Dasha went above and beyond when caring for a Veteran who is battling dementia. She was kind, caring, patient, understanding, and compassionate. She showed how truly big her heart is and how loyal she is to the Veterans. She walked with the Veteran when he was restless, sat with him when he was upset, and gave him space when he needed it. She built such a good relationship with this Veteran that she was able to help him trust nurses and take his medications. When the family visited, she showed compassion. When the nurses needed assistance, she stepped up to help. One day the Veteran was very upset, walking into other rooms and throwing things out of frustration. She offered to give up her group and switch with the current CPO. The Veteran walked back to his room with her, was able to calm down with her soft voice and get him to eat breakfast and take his meds. She truly provided this Veteran with the best care. She has a special heart and is truly a blessing to have on 7C, it's an honor to work with her. Thank you for caring for our Veterans, your passion shined!
