I had two other kids at two other hospitals...my experience at this hospital has been amazing. I wasn't in labor long, no surprise since not my first rodeo. This nurse was so outgoing and had an awesome attitude! She had just come on shift and I was ready to go. It was after 7 AM at this point. I know she just got done getting filled-in on what was going on for the day. Not even a drink of coffee yet, but she was on it! I decided late to get the epidural, she knew I didn't want it but told me there was nothing wrong with changing my mind and not to beat myself up over it. She had to start an IV quickly and get the doctor for the epidural fast, get a hold of my doctor, and so on. My labor all together was maybe five hours. She had complete control in a move-fast situation! Also, she went above and beyond as our cousin was also there with his girlfriend having their first baby. A little girl just like us. But we couldn't see each other due to COVID-19. She took a photo for both of us (with our permission) of our girls in the nursery! Pulled their bassinets together and captured a once in a lifetime moment. Thank you!
To also add, my grandma died two days before I had my daughter. She died at your hospital and to have to go back there so fast was very hard. Two of the strongest feelings ever are very hard to blend so closely. The loss of a loved one and the birth of your baby will now forever be thought of together and I hated that. This nurse just helped me be happy, relaxed, and just treated me with great respect. I can tell that's just who this nurse is, very positive, upbeat, and likes to stay busy! She wasn't faking, she loves what she does, and it shows! I can't thank her enough.
