We came into TCH through the Emergency Room and made our way to the 12th floor. After we were admitted, my daughter and I were very nervous about what caused her to be admitted. We met Jennifer the following day and immediately felt at ease with her. The fact of the unknown weighed heavy on us and when my daughter was asked to do a cleansing, her positive mindset disappeared. Ms. Jennifer was very instrumental because her compassion, optimism, and kindness did not go unnoticed by my 16-year-old daughter. Her connection to my teenage daughter was the key to her finishing her prep for her procedures. After finding out her diagnosis (Chron's Disease), Ms. Jennifer continued to brighten our day by accompanying my daughter to keep her focus and encourage her on strengths and values, and high standards to continue to thrive and become informed and educated about her new diagnosis. She also reminded my daughter that she can live a normal life. She may forget our names but we will never forget how she made us feel - hopeful!
