Carla worked tirelessly to get patients called, canceled, and then rescheduled to virtual visits. All this time while still seeing to the needs of her patients
When COVID hit in the Indianapolis area, Carla stepped up and became the leader in a non-leadership role. She worked with all of the nurses to make sure there was great communication. She became the contact person between the nurses and the leadership that was working from home. She worked tirelessly to get patients called, canceled, and then rescheduled to virtual visits. All this time while still seeing to the needs of her patients. Carla works with patients that receive Deep Brain Stimulation for their Parkinson's Disease. She kept up on who needed this surgery once surgery was an option again and kept this long list of patients updated. Carla was never asked to be the leader of this nursing group, it was just a natural reaction for her. She is a true example of what a nurse should be. She is a true example of what a peer should be to others and she is a true example of what Neurology needed during a deadly pandemic that none of us had ever seen before.
