Collier put a change on things for me because he would make sure I always had what I needed before I knew I needed it.
This is for my buddy. I met him in March when I was admitted to Baptist for my first blood clot. I was prepared for just another stay going through the motions (do as they say, stay hydrated, get out). This time was different, it was night shift and typically, it is pretty straightforward with medicine, a "you feeling alright" and a goodnight. I knew that was not the case when we started with who he is and how he broke his leg!
Collier put a change on things for me because he would make sure I always had what I needed before I knew I needed it and if I got bored, he would try to keep me company as much as possible. Today, 3 months later, I get a text from him that put some sunshine on things. Someone who met me for 3 days, texted me telling me everything will be alright. I appreciate all of the loving messages I get from people all around. It's amazing the power a text message can do for you during a time of struggle.
Collier's message: "Hey big guy. Thinking about you. I don't know why this has happened, but I know this is going to make your story that much better. You're meant to do big things, and this is going to make you stronger in the long run. You've got a great group in your corner. Stay strong brother man."
You have no idea how much I appreciated that! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, things are tough right now. Just because it's hard to accept it all but hearing how easy this road could be in terms of if we move the right way so will I. It makes me feel really good knowing I have a great group behind me pushing me along this journey.
