I will never forget what Brooke did for me and what she continues to do for me within this stay.
I am newly diagnosed with cancer and have had four stays in the hospital within 3 months. This was very hard for me. I am an RN as well. We are fast-moving productive people and my world spun to an almost stop. I was so depressed after a six-day stay in the hospital. My sister was with me but had to work during my stay. Brooke noticed I was becoming down. She talked with me about it. I told her I missed my boyfriend and she surprised me and got him in to see me. It was only for one evening, but it uplifted my spirit so much. It meant so much to both of us.
I discharged two days later but was back again in two weeks and I was the luckiest patient to get Brooke again. She is fun! She is funny and just makes you feel like the most important person. She also treated my family with such respect and friendship.
I have been a critical care nurse for 12 years. After having Brooke as my nurse I realized that I could do so much better and the next time I work I plan on stepping up to Brooke's level. More caring, friendlier, and take a little more time. She is great at her job! I will never forget what she did for me and what she continues to do for me within this stay. I will strive to be more like her, and I've thanked God many times for putting her in my life's path.
