2020 has certainly brought many, many challenges. Just as my husband and I thought we had established a new routine a tsunami blindsided us. In September, my husband awoke to chest pains. I called 911 and he was taken to Seton Williamson. After tests of every kind and major open-heart surgery, he was placed in ICU.
The very first nurse he had was Morgan Thomas. He was on a respirator and in critical condition. Morgan sat with her computer by his side, it seemed for days. She never left his side and cared for him like he was the most important person in the universe. I sat and watched. She explained everything in detail and included me in every question she had for doctors. I'm convinced she never ate or took a potty break.
She made one of the most overwhelming events in our lives bearable. She gave way, way more than 100% to her job. She is a kind, loving, respectful, dear young woman. I cannot tell you how much I came to love her. I will always believe that her care in those critical days saved his life.
