Sunny E.
Mesfun
,
RN
3 South
Kaiser Permanente Richmond Medical Center
Sunny made sure that we were well informed of what was going on and was reaching out to the team for an answer and solution to our predicament.
The reason we would like to nominate Sunny for this award is because he is a person that goes above and beyond. He makes sure his patients are getting the attention they need. That they have as comfortable a stay in the hospital which is truly a stressful and difficult situation. He takes the time to listen to what family members, friends, and most importantly the patients have to say about what needs to be addressed concerning their stay in the hospital. He made all of us feel more at ease with our father's 3-day stay.
Our father was having issues with his heart rate and the circumstances did not seem to lend itself to a solution as laid out by the medical team. Sunny made sure that we were well informed of what was going on and was reaching out to the team for an answer and solution to our predicament. The way he interacted not only with me but with my Dad was done in a way that showed kindness, compassion, and consideration on how my dad was comprehending what was going on with his treatment and medication.
What was impressive was how Sunny got answers in a timely manner, so we did not worry for so long. He really made a difference in our stay in the hospital. I worked in a hospital for 8 and a half years and met a lot of nurses and I can tell you he is a special kind of person, that any medical institution would be very proud to have as an employee.
If Sunny represents the majority, of his peers, then Kaiser has an excellent team put together in Richmond.
