Linda's love and desire to care for her patients is above and beyond any sort of routine care; her heart shines brightly.
The patient's daughter was seen in the ER where they were lucky enough to have the most compassionate nurse assigned to her daughter's care. The patient is 15 and has had several complex medical needs; hospital and ER visits are not new to her, but the reason for the visit was a need for an urgent intervention resulting from a new treatment and she was so scared that she was shaking and crying for much of the visit. Her nurse, Linda, was so patient, gentle, and kind. She gave the patient so much compassionate attention, she offered breaks when the patient was crying and scared. She comforted the patient and made her feel safe, and made the family feel as though they were the only ones in the ER even though it was very busy.
The patient's mother went on to say that her daughter has had over 15 surgeries, hundreds of outpatient appointments, and has encountered countless medical staff across a wide spectrum of services and facilities, but Linda's love and desire to care for her patients is above and beyond any sort of routine care; her heart shines brightly. Linda made such a positive impact on the patient's time in the ER and the mother is so grateful that she was placed in their lives that night.
