Britt is an extraordinary caregiver, always focused on the wants and needs of her patients.
I have been a rehab patient at Shirley Ryan for a month. In that time I have been cared for by at least two dozen nurses and PCTs. It is my distinct honor and pleasure to nominate RN Brittany Cooper for the DAISY Award in recognition of the extraordinary empathy that Britt has demonstrated in relation to my care and the care of my fellow patients on the 23rd floor.
I want to make particular mention of Britt's kindness toward my family members, who have been making pests of themselves on a daily basis and to whom she has responded with infinite patience. For instance, giving my sister her personal cell phone number so that my sister could arrange (with Britt) for my family members to join her on daily facetime calls from Ireland.
Britt is an extraordinary caregiver, always focused on the wants and needs of her patients, including in my case, anticipating the need to alleviate the high level of discomfort sitting for hours in an uncomfortable wheelchair.
Britt's friendly demeanor and always cheerful disposition radiates through our floor and added a sense of calm and relief of anxiety for those of us confined to our hospital rooms. I'm happy to have the pleasure of a friendly and cooperative professional who understands and empathizes with the challenges faced by patients in a busy and intensive rehab facility.
