Emily gave her a sense of normalcy in a terrifying environment and provided some comfort to the family that she was in good/kind hands.
I had a friend in very critical condition in the ICU and was there to support her husband and 4 daughters. Emily came to the waiting area to introduce herself and answered all questions.
She allowed the family to come back to visit due to her guarded condition. I know this may seem small, but Emily took the time to French braid her hair and cover her in a blanket from home. During such a stressful time, this small gesture meant so much to her family, especially her daughters. Emily gave her a sense of normalcy in a terrifying environment and provided some comfort to the family that she was in good/kind hands.
Emily took the extra time to make her appear as the wife and mother they know, instead of "the patient." They were completely grateful for all that took of her in the ICU, but this little extra attention provided a huge comfort to the family in their time of need!
