As Mayor, Beth has pioneered many policies in Orange County and Yorba Linda which have kept residents of those communities and the local first responders safe in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2020, the DAISY Foundation and HealthImpact partnered to create the HealthImpact DAISY Nurse Leader Award in Policy. The award was created to honor nurses whose work in policy advances compassionate care that improves the health of populations.

Mayor Dr. Beth Haney of Yorba Linda has improved the health of her community through her work as being an elected official and by serving on the YMCA Orange County Board of Directors. As Mayor, she has pioneered many policies in Orange County and Yorba Linda which have kept residents of those communities and the local first responders safe in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. She sponsored first responder training regarding the use of personal protective equipment and serves as a subject matter expert for Orange County related to public health policies of masking, county operations, and supporting local hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the YMCA, she led fundraising efforts to provide services such as the after school program, teen suicide prevention, and Dream Builders for Children with Cancer.
