Ashley is the total package! We saw Ashley twice in the same day with my 2 kids and she was amazing. She has the very important and rare attribute to "see" what her patients and their families need at the moment. We entered a medical office for the first time since the start of COVID and immediately her warm demeanor and smile (yes, we could tell behind the mask) put my son and me at ease. My middle schooler was very nervous about his vaccines. As Ashley was going through the routine questions, when she asked about vaccines for the visit she could see that my son was very nervous. She quickly suggested that we do the vaccines first so that he could relax and not fret about them throughout the entire visit. What an incredibly insightful observation and suggestion. She changed the whole experience for him! Kudos!!!
Then, later in the day, we returned in the middle of a monsoon with my sick 5-year-old. She was empathetic and truly made us feel as though she cared about him (even though it was Friday at 4:30). She was so kind and gentle as she took care of my little febrile kiddo. She was also so skilled with her quick and efficient throat swab. Ashley truly exemplifies the idealistic pediatric nurse. CHOP (and we) are so lucky to have her!!! Thanks for all you do Ashley!
