My father was a patient on the acute Oncology floor for nine and a half days. I was his one visitor. He received great care while there, but one of his favorite nurses was Wes. Wes was always respectful, calling Dad 'Sir' or by his first name. He was efficient and didn't hesitate to consult a doctor if something didn't seem quite right with Dad's vitals or treatment. When Dad wanted to share some story about his life experiences, Wes would stop for a few minutes to listen and engage in a short conversation with him. As Dad's nights became more difficult, he voiced his wish that Wes could stay for the night shift too! Wes is an Extraordinary Nurse who truly cares for his patients.
