We had a patient on comfort care whose family had left for the night; he was beginning to show signs and symptoms of passing soon. Severin was not only his nurse, but she was also in the middle of charge nurse work and she dropped everything to go to the patient's side with his primary nurse. She held his hand and knowing he was a Christian began to pray for him as he passed. She went above and beyond her duties as a charge nurse to ensure the patient had a good and peaceful end. It was so inspiring to see her care and devotion for her patients, whether she is their nurse or not. I know she has done this for many other patients as well as their families before. I so admire her heart not only as a nurse but a woman of God.
