During my stay, many nurses provided care for me but one nurse stood out from the rest. Brittany goes about her work quietly and cheerfully. She is one of those unsung heroes who go above and beyond to make patients feel comfortable. Brittany does her work not as a job or career, but as a vocation! She is a special person who is warm and compassionate. I spent over 30 years working in healthcare with numerous nurses and social workers when I was in leadership for a hospital. Most nurses are special and work to heal their patients daily. Brittany is one of those nurses who exceeds expectations and one of the few who stands out among the rest. Her caring and thoughtfulness shine through. She explains everything she does and why and she describes in detail what each medication and procedure is done so the patient understands and feels comfortable. In all my years in healthcare, I have worked with so many caring people, however, Brittany is one of the nurses who chose the profession because she truly loves what she does. Seeing what it is like as a patient and not an administrator, really allowed me to see all that Brittany does during her 12-hour shift each day. She is an outstanding nurse that I will never forget.
