The updates that Chris provides her with on his night shift have helped the spouse, have improved resilience, and provided a calmness in the midst of her world being turned upside down.
Going above and beyond is what makes me so proud of our nursing staff. The spirit of empathy and compassion continues to shine through. It is in the darkest times that we are able to see our brightest stars. I wanted to pause and let you know that Chris Moore is a bright star!
Approximately 30 minutes ago, I contacted the family of a patient who is an intubated patient in the COVID unit. He previously was still working daily before his admission. His wife is primarily Spanish speaking and on the call made by SPC-Dr. H to the family today, they conveyed appreciation for Chris's updates at night. The daughter conveys that the patient's spouse was drifting into depression and becoming withdrawn from the rest of the family. The updates that Chris provides her with on his night shift have helped the spouse, have improved resilience, and provided a calmness in the midst of her world being turned upside down.
His adult daughter comments, "When you are alone, you are most vulnerable," and we are grateful to Chris for helping fill that void at night while she and other adult children in the home have had to work. Chris is truly wonderful and a true DAISY Nurse.
