I have had Sandhya as my nurse during my previous hospital stays due to low potassium. Watching her perform different processes and procedures for my respiratory issues really brought her knowledge to the forefront. She has a great bedside manner and takes the time to not only explain what and why she is doing but also to explain and demonstrate little tricks of the trade that she has learned over the years.
For example, I have a port that I have worked hard to keep clear and functioning for over 5 years. One of the things I have learned is that after all meds have been administered, 2 flushes need to be done. She flushed twice per my request, but she had a technique which I guess is easiest explained by when she was pushing saline, she had a technique that created an isolating effect (similar to a sonic wave product). I could feel the difference in this way.
She has so much knowledge, I think the new nurses could really benefit from the years of knowledge she has.
