Brie is empathetic to all, showing a kind and sweet spirit. She remembers the little things and always asks about their lives, special occasions, and hardships with genuine interest and care.
I frequently hear from patients regarding their care and the nurses who have been in the trenches with them during their worst times. As an RN, I get to work alongside these same nurses that I hear patients talk about and see first hand the quality of care they provide. Throughout all my time here at KCH, I have never heard more compliments from both patients and other staff members regarding the care, compassion, teamwork, and leadership, surrounding Brie. She came to ICU after serving patients on the medical floor and continued to grow into a skilled and competent ICU nurse, able to give quality critical care to the sickest of patients with grace, humor, compassion, and always a kind word. During this pandemic, Brie, along with her co-workers worked tirelessly with these patients day after day after day to ensure continuity of care and a familiar face that they could count on. Brie gets to know the patients and families and they come to consider her as "family". Brie is often the last to leave making sure first that her co-workers and patients are in a good place. She has stayed over to care for declining and dying patients. She even switches shifts to help where help is most needed. Brie has a kind heart. She is empathetic to all, showing a kind and sweet spirit. She remembers the little things and always asks about their lives, special occasions, and hardships with genuine interest and care. I could say much more but lastly, Brie is a testament of service to all and it is with the utmost respect for her kindness, compassion, skill, and heart, that I recognize Brie as a DAISY Nurse.
