Ashlee is the greatest, most caring nurse I have ever had. I was extremely upset and was leaving AMA. Ashlee came into my room and asked if everything was ok and if I needed an ear to hear me out. I said no, but she kept showing concern and I vented to her. She apologized and I told her this was not her fault; I didn't even know her. She stated it is because the care I felt I wasn't receiving makes the unit as a whole look bad.
It was her problem solving, integrity, and strong compassion that won me over to stay. I can honestly say I received safer, better care because of Ashlee. She went above and beyond to make things right for me. It was also my birthday and she surprised me with a cupcake! Ashlee helped me more than she will ever know. I will be forever grateful she came into my room and listened. I felt like someone was finally genuinely listening. She is the most respectful, caring, and kind nurse I have ever met. She is a true DAISY Nurse for being so extraordinary and making me have hope in the healthcare system.
