A patient presented to the ED as a possible stroke alert. Although we were advised at the front that the patient spoke English, Romanian was his first language, it soon became clear he was having some trouble with communication. Recognizing the origin of the name, this nurse who was assigned to a different area, came over to check on the patient. She spoke to him in Romanian. Her very presence, and willingness to communicate with him in his language, to let him vent, and to reassure him. She stayed by his side through the exam and CT scan. Her selfless act was noted by the family whom she spoke with to obtain more information and staff members. For this reason and many others, Agatha is a true DAISY Nurse.
