Mary is a source of positivity, compassion, and joy with a great sense of intellectual curiosity and desire to improve processes and patient care wherever she sees an opportunity. She was integral in ensuring the new North Campus ED was well equipped and ready for opening. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic overtook the US, Mary began sewing homemade masks and hair coverings for team members in case PPE became difficult to acquire and brought the spirit of Children's into this project by using child-friendly, fun fabrics that would help our patients and families feel safe and cared for. Through all of this, Mary also became a sexual assault nurse examiner and brings this education to the bedside staff since there is currently no SANE staffing at North. Mary's selflessness, loyalty, and dedication to her team members and anyone who may be in need are apparent in every facet of her personality and actions.
