Bashir at this juncture advocated for the patient and got approval to proceed with treatment. The patient was dignified and excellent service was provided despite the time frame available.
Bashir Gaji was supposed to be a preceptor for a new staff who was supposedly meant to come off orientation slowly today, instead, the orientee had a partial patient assignment because we were short-staffed today. Bashir also took a full patient load and again stayed late till after 7 pm waiting for another staff to complete treatment on one of the patients who came to the clinic late. I saw a great deal of collaboration in Bashir. Bashir stepped in to assist the staff that was working on the floor today since most of them were new in our area. Bashir was a great resource for the staff and gave himself willingly for the service of others, a very compassionate staff who cared for the patients and the staff alike.
Bashir goes above and beyond every time. Today Bashir was able to support another staff and this was the reason Bashir left the clinic very late today. A patient came to the clinic at 12:30 PM for lab and treatment visit was: lab at 07:30 am and treatment visit time at 8:30 am for treatment of 5 hours. Since this patient showed up in the clinic at 12:30 PM there was no way we could complete the treatment on time and the patient was rescheduled. This patient refused to be rescheduled. Bashir reviewed the patient's concerns and realized that his patient did not recognize that the appointment was made for a 7:30 am lab and treatment visit at 8:30 am and thought the appointment started at 12:30 pm. Bashir reviewed patient concerns and noted that the patient did not get accurate appointment schedule during the last office visit. Bashir realized the intrinsic worth of this patient and decided to proceed with treatment irrespective of the time and duration of the treatment. Bashir communicated to the treating physician and the plan agreed on was to treat the patient. Bashir at this juncture advocated for the patient and got approval to proceed with treatment. The patient was dignified and excellent service was provided despite the time frame available. Bashir displayed excellent leadership quality. If this patient was not treated maybe the patient's condition may be affected adversely. Bashir again was able to show the quality of stewardship.
