Miranda worked closely with the hotel staff and animal control to ensure his dog was rescued and cared for during the patient's stay.
Miranda cared for a patient in psychiatric crisis who was agitated and aggressive, screaming that he "had to get Thor". He was physically combative with staff and security; however, Miranda took the time to uncover the root cause of his distress. She found out that Thor was his dog and was left alone in a hotel room across the street after EMS brought the patient to the hospital. She worked closely with the hotel staff and animal control to ensure his dog was rescued and cared for during the patient's stay. Upon knowing Thor was safe, the patient was amenable to treatment and he was able to be reunited with his dog after discharge.
