It was 70+ degrees this weekend and Rachel organized her day to take this patient outside for a walk in his wheelchair.
Rachel cared for a very special patient to me and made more of an impact than she realizes.
Our patient was a young patient who had just received a new diagnosis of cancer. The patient was bed-bound due to hip fractures.
Unknown to Rachel, the patient noticed a patient walking the halls overnight that an identical chemo bag set up as his own. He expressed frustration to the night RN that someone with the same treatment was up and walking while he was on strict bed rest.
It was 70+ degrees this weekend and Rachel organized her day to take this patient outside for a walk in his wheelchair. The patient was brought to tears when telling me about it and he could not have been more grateful!
