Jill reached out to the appropriate contact which resulted in the patient and her niece being able to come to the hospital and get breakfast before her treatment.
One of our patients being treated in the Chemotherapy Clinic lives a far distance. The patient has a three-day treatment regimen and stays in the hotel accommodation. The patient's niece accompanies her as the patient is oxygen-dependent and uses the wheelchair to assist her in distance ambulation. The patient was finding that it was difficult to get into the hospital and get breakfast before her appointments for lab and treatment related to the changes with COVID.
The patient was upset on this incident and expressed her concerns to Jill. Jill reached out to the appropriate contact which resulted in the patient and her niece being able to come to the hospital and get breakfast before her treatment. This is only just one example of Jill going out her way for patients. She remains constant and works diligently with addressing patients' concerns and questions often addressing issues and concerns beyond the workday.

I was coming to the VA for an appointment and couldn't quite make it to the front by the flagpole with my walking stick. Jill saw that I was struggling and grabbed a wheelchair to assist me. I felt like I was about to pass out, but she was there like a guardian angel at the right time. If she hadn't been quick with the wheelchair I may have fallen and really hurt myself. She was a godsend and I would like to thank her for swift action.
