Each day I knew Chelsea was going to be working brought me new energy and strength to want to heal my wounds.
Chelsea was an angel who surrounded me throughout my stay. Every doctor tried to talk to my family and me for weeks to discuss how dangerous it was for me to get surgery. Chelsea helped me laugh in the face of danger simply through her fundamental way of caring. Each day I knew she was going to be working brought me new energy and strength to want to heal my wounds. Chelsea was gentle and compassionate when she took care of me and spent so much time working with the kitchen to get me a decent hot meal. Once Chelsea saw the smile on my face from having a good meal, she was determined to keep this occurring. She called the diet people, talked to my family, and had the doctor explain what food was ok for me to have made and brought into me. Days in which my family could not come, Chelsea made sure I had enough meals to get through. This was so compassionate, and it is through the good solid food that I believe helped heal me, wounds, and infection. Without it, I would not have been able to get stronger. It was as if Chelsea was called on in a special way from God to allow her warmth and good cooking to pass through my body so I could function outside of these hospital walls again.
