Christin listened to her patient's husband, reached out to patient relations via email, and received discount parking tickets for him.
Christin always goes above and beyond for her patients. If it is a homeless patient without clothing, Christin provides for them. If it a specific item a patient is craving, gum, mints, puzzles, Christin takes the time to stop on her way to work and get those things on her way to work. She takes the time to talk to her patients, and their families and really listens. She works primarily night shift and takes the initiative to problem solve needs without waiting for the "daylight clinician" to come in and take care of things. Recently, she discovered a husband who was financially stressed with the cost of parking. She listened to her patient's husband, reached out to patient relations via email, and received discount parking tickets for him. This small act of kindness is the kind of thing that makes a big difference in the perception of our unit and UPMC as a whole.
