Olivia always has her patients' best interest at heart when she is caring for them and she is always willing to advocate for them.
During my last shift with Olivia, she had a patient who had a head bleed and was needing to be transferred to the Plaza. The patient didn't have any family with them but had a 23 y/o son and a 9 y/o son. The patient did not have her phone with her either. Olivia initially was in the room and had helped to keep the patient calm after the doctor had informed the patient of the diagnosis and need to be transferred. Other nurses arrived to help prep the patient for transfer. The increase in nurses increased the patient's anxiety level and blood pressure. Olivia did a great job recognizing that and then attempting to minimize future influxes of nurses in the room. Olivia also recognized the need for the patient to speak to her youngest son to reassure herself and her son that she was in good hands and going to be ok. Olivia went above and beyond to help the patient connect and video chat with her family during this trying time. Olivia always has her patients' best interest at heart when she is caring for them and she is always willing to advocate for them. If I had to be a patient here or if my family member was, I would want Olivia to be one of their nurses. Thanks for going above and beyond, Olivia!
