It is so apparent that Lindsey truly cares for my dad. Having her on our journey has definitely been a blessing.
From the first day Lindsey took care of my dad, I felt at ease. I will never forget her empathy and her concern, not just for my father but for me. I remember the second day she took care of dad. She got on the phone and said "hey S. I have Dad today". But I swear, it felt like she said "hey S, I have your back today". Lindsey makes me so proud and honored to be an ICU nurse myself. I cried the day she told me, "we all love him and are rooting for him because you are one of our own". It touched my heart. I feel so blessed to have her on not only Dad's team, but also on my team. She encourages me, she reads off the labs to me and the vent settings. It's so crazy, she knows everything I want to know before I ask!! When dad was at his most critical point and I found myself having what felt like panic attacks, Lindsey was always available. She let me know several times that I could call back whenever. I have never felt so thankful and so pleased with a nurse. Lyndsey is the type of nurse I'm always striving to be. I love her as if she's my distant sister. It is so apparent that she truly cares for my dad. Having her on our journey has definitely been a blessing. At a time like this, when I am unable to visit my father and I am truly at the mercy of the doctors and nurses- I'm so thankful to have her. I truly pray for her happiness and peace. The world needs more nurses like Lindsey. She is a true DAISY Nurse for not just being a nurse to my father, but also for being a nurse to me. This is what nursing is all about. When I pray for my dad at night, I pray for his entire team and thank God especially for Lindsey.
