Taylor RN at Arkansas Children's Hospital PICU in Little Rock, Arkansas was a Godsend for my "momma heart" as well as gave me faith in the generation of nurses. She truly cares about her patients/patient family and seeks out information that she might not know. She spent countless hours in our room ensuring my daughter was comfortable and cared for. As a nurse myself, the tables were turned as I witnessed my 1-year-old be admitted to PICU. Wearing both mom/nurse hats brought about many fears, questions, and tears. Taylor listened to concerns and questions and relayed them to the medical teams appropriately. She calmed me with her sweet spirit and reassured me that everything was being done to help my sweet baby girl. She even helped me sing Jesus Love Me to my daughter to calm her. Never once did she seem put out by her job or my many questions. She interacted with poise in times of stress and utilized her teammates' strengths when needed. She absolutely should be recognized for her compassion and kindness as she exemplifies some of the key elements it takes to be a nurse.
