I work in PACU and gave report to Abby one day. The patient going to 5SW. This RN showed true care and compassion which I noticed during the report. She reviewed the report I gave and asked questions to truly understand his care. She also asked me to check with the patient to see if he wanted her to order his breakfast tray so he wouldn't have to wait for it. He stated yes. I feel this went above and beyond and showed a true understanding of what a patient needs and wants. I was so impressed. This is a patient who will have a long recovery and is looking at many other procedures. She certainly made him feel his needs were important and that she would go above and beyond.
