Ashley was somehow able to keep E relatively calm despite the screaming and multiple attempts to get the line placed. She brought E a toy for being so brave, a toy that she hasn't put down since we've gotten home.
We ended up at the ER after my daughter had multiple seizures in one day. Ashley was our nurse from the moment we got to our room. She talked to E and made her smile and feel so comfortable. Not only did she check on my daughter to get her snacks and keep her comfortable she made sure I was doing ok as well. Something about her demeanor kept me calm at a time where all I wanted to do was cry. Eleanor had another seizure in her sleep and Ashley was the first one in the room. Things moved rather quickly from there. Getting an IV placed was a rather difficult task for everyone but Ashley was somehow able to keep E relatively calm despite the screaming and multiple attempts to get the line placed. She brought E a toy for being so brave, a toy that she hasn't put down since we've gotten home. E was able to fall back asleep. I on the other hand was awake and worried. Ashley brought me drinks and a sandwich at 1 in the morning while we waited for a room. It was a gesture I will never forget. Ashley had a great smile that kept me calm even when we were finally transferred to our room at 4 am. She was so amazing and kind to both my daughter and me that she put me at ease knowing that E would be cared for like this the rest of our stay. I will never be able to thank her enough for taking care of my daughter the way she did.
