I had a patient who needed a great deal of emotional support after experiencing a traumatic injury. The patient was Spanish speaking, and unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish. Brisa stepped in and helped to support my patient in her native language while she was in my care. Brisa then very graciously agreed to assume care of this patient from me the following day so that her emotional needs could continue to be met. Not only did Brisa provide this patient with exceptional nursing care, but she also went above and beyond to meet this patient's emotional needs. When the patient returned from surgery to find that the results were not as she had hoped, Brisa went out of her way to comfort her and brought her flowers which helped to brighten what was an otherwise very dark moment for this patient. This is just one small example of many. Brisa consistently goes above and beyond for not only her patients but her fellow team members. She can always be continued on to help her team without complaint or expectation. She has demonstrated over and over again that she truly cares.
