Christine
Nawita
,
RN
Medical Oncology, 7 East
Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital
As the patient passed Christine said a prayer, blessing the children of this patient who were all very young. She had formed a previous bond with the family and her healing prayers meant the world to them.
Christine gave of herself to assist me with a patient who had transitioned into the dying process. She spoke with the family, she gave me insight into the patient's children and how she had been cared for during her many admissions. Christine did not even need to be asked to help, she just did. She is always willing to help. When I had a patient who was discharging she came in and did his ADLs and got him dressed so that I could complete the discharge in time for medical transport. She does not just help me, she helps other staff, offering assistance with their patients, or offering prayers of hope for others.

Christine is always giving of herself. We had a patient that was in the dying process and as the patient passed she said a prayer, blessing the children of this patient who were all very young. She had formed a previous bond with the family and her healing prayers meant the world to them especially the children who ranged from 2 to 12 years old.

I feel that Christine is able to form bonds with her patients and when another nurse has the patient she is always willing to offer insight into their special needs or complications. I call Christine an Angel on Earth because I have never met anyone so kind and selfless.
***
Christine is very experienced in Oncology nursing. She does relief charge. She is honest and never had derogatory comments. She is always positive. She makes me feel empowered when she is here. There are so many patients that say she is the nicest nurse they have had. I can't even put in the words how wonderful she is.
