Deidre suggested a bath so I could feel better. She combed out my hair, made me a nice braid, she brought me body cream so I smelled good.
I had an accident in the water and had a spinal cord injury and emergency back surgery. I lost the ability to use my left arm and lost functionality in my right arm. She was amazing and did so much for me to stay patient, positive, and not anxious. This was during COVID when for a week I could see no family or friends. She anticipated my needs and always made sure I felt safe and secure. She would have the meds that I needed. So I felt getting proper medication. She was always asking how I could be more comfortable - an extra pillow or a change in pillow position, a tea, a coffee, more water. She was the first to address my need to feel nice and clean to feel better. She suggested a bath so I could feel better. She combed out my hair, made me a nice braid, she brought me body cream so I smelled good. She knew how to make me feel better about myself and more positive about my recovery. She suggested cleaning up my IVs, while she efficiently did her job. We would have nice chats to distract me from hospital life. She was so kind to pick up a food package that my family delivered to me for Thanksgiving. She spoke directly to my husband and daughter to reassure them that I am recovering. She is always calm, no matter how busy it seems to get. I thank the whole team who helped me here for over a week. They were all really wonderful!
