Kim would often share stories about her own son and family and she helped my wife so much.
I and my wife were moved up to the momma baby unit at the new women's Cone Hospital after the delivery of our daughter. My wife had a c-section and had some abnormal bleeding and trouble breastfeeding. Kim went out of her way on both her shifts to give us undivided attention and personal care. She felt more like a friend than our nurse.
Growing up I have been in and out of hospitals because my mother fought brain cancer for 18 years. I have spent countless nights and days with many nurses and to say Kim was the best nurse I have ever been around would be an understatement. She would often share stories about her own son and family and she helped my wife so much. This type of person should be awarded for going above and beyond. Don't get me wrong, our entire experience was great, it's just Kim was special.
