I had the opportunity to witness his compassionate interactions with family members as they navigated the difficult moments of end of life for a beloved, long-term patient. He confidently shared pertinent information regarding the dying process to help the family have a better understanding of what to expect and how to make informed decisions. His communication was clean as events unfolded and changes occurred, and involved all family members, including siblings, in the grieving process.
Daniel did everything in his power to ensure the patient's death was beautiful and peaceful. He acted as a liaison between the multidisciplinary team and the family in effort to fulfill the family's wishes for the final moments. His interactions were without flaw throughout the entirety of the day. Daniel is the embodiment of patient and family-centered care and his work deserves to be celebrated and recognized.
