I was in more pain than I had ever felt in my life, Kristin was right there next to me, explaining what was going on and reassuring me that my son and I both would be ok.
Kristin helped me through a very tough, very painful, very traumatic delivery of my son. May I add that I'm not just a patient, but I'm also a Wesley RN. Kristin took over for another awesome nurse at 7:15 pm, just as I was beginning to push. She stayed in there with me for the whole time, coached me through some really painful contractions, helped me refocus when the epidural wore off and was right there beside me the whole time when things turned serious and scary. She never once showed how exhausted she was from helping me push for 3 hours. She supported every single decision I made as far as what the next steps would be for delivery. When my epidural wore completely off she was quick to get on the phone with the doctors and anesthesia to try and help me get some relief to finish labor. But most importantly, when things turned south and my baby wasn't crying when he came out, and I was in more pain than I had ever felt in my life, she was right there next to me, explaining what was going on and reassuring me that my son and I both would be ok. In a room full of people encouraging me and cheering me on to finish pushing, her voice was the one I could distinctly pick out and focus on. My entire team since I have been here has been by far the best and it makes me proud to call these people coworkers even though we are from very different departments. Kristin from LDR was above and beyond amazing!
