Last December I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Prior to this, I had never been admitted to any hospital. Since my diagnosis, I have been admitted eight times, had four ERCPs and the Whipple procedure. During my hospitalizations, I experienced many good nurses, and one who stood out amongst them all...Wendy. This amazing young lady works a 9D. I had just endured an extremely bad night following a Whipple and a lot of pain and then, in walked Wendy! She immediately assessed the situation and swung into action! I was only fortunate enough to be in Wendy's care twice more, but her integrity, commitment, advocacy, respect, and excellence were exemplary. Wendy listens, learns, assists patients, doctors, nurses, and aids. Wendy is, in every respect, an amazing example of the VA's promise to Veterans! Wendy is a true DAISY Nurse.
