Lynette Fires is a very kind, caring, and compassionate nurse. She is very patient and always willing to help others. She encourages her co-workers by offering support and going as far as ordering ICU jackets for the ICU team. She updates the ICU nurses with any training or educational opportunities available in the community at GRMC. One time the ICU had a Japanese tourist who had a spinal injury and Lynette and the ICU staff brought in Japanese DVDs and a personal DVD player so that the patient could be entertained while in the ICU. The patient did not speak English so he appreciated the kind gesture.

Lynette is so dedicated to the ICU. She is always the first to volunteer for overtime when the unit is short-staffed and she works tirelessly to improve the culture and practices of the ICU. She always comes in with a positive attitude that lifts the spirit of the entire unit. She is a very knowledgeable nurse who never stops learning and improving her practice. She has made this unit a better place for her patients and her coworkers.
