Ms. Lawhead was exceptionally helpful recently. We were attempting to have a patient travel back to Gainesville (his preference) for placement of a PICC line for IV antibiotic therapy. Because he was coming on a day that his home health RN was to change his wound vac, we planned on doing this following PICC placement. We also needed to change the continuous infusion from a peripheral IV to his PICC line. Neither myself nor my coworker is familiar with PICC lines, so I was trying to see if one of the nurses could help us. Ms. Bree Lawhead immediately agreed and assisted us in flushing the ports and attaching the antibiotics. She also provided a pouch to carry the "ball." She was so helpful and so pleasant to work with and surely went "above and beyond" her duties as this patient was not an inpatient.
