My father-in-law was a patient for 5 days for a GI bleed. Due to a hemorrhagic stroke, he has very limited strength and mobility and relies heavily on those in the nursing profession to assist with activities of daily living. Rachel was not his designated nurse but was summoned by the Patient Care Tech for help after seeing the amount of blood in his stool. Rachel jumped right in and took charge of assisting my father-in-law with his toileting activities and then, also, cleaning him up and getting situated in his bed. Rachel wasn't even his nurse but was the closest nurse to assist. For these selfless actions and compassionate care, I believe Rachel is a true DAISY Nurse. My husband and I are extremely grateful for the care he received.
